Happy Father's Day!

I hope you all had fun celebrating Father's Day with your husbands and dads yesterday!  We had a great day with Alan.  We made a special breakfast - well actually it turned out to be lunch because we had early church this Sunday.  We made french toast and topped it off with strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream!  I also made some caramel syrup, but unfortunately I overcooked it and it got pretty hard once it touched your plate.  It's a recipe from Alan's family and I have yet to perfect it.  I'm still working on it and I will get it!

Then we headed to Alan's grandparent's house for a family dinner and enjoyed hanging out with my father-in-law, grandfather, uncles, cousins, and brother-in-laws.  So lots of fathers and future fathers.  The Bammer had a great time hanging with Alan's younger cousins.  They're the last of the cousins and don't have little siblings so they enjoyed taking walks with the Bammer, swinging with her, playing in the water fountain, and feeding her.  She loved all the attention!

We also spent Friday with my dad to celebrate Father's Day also and went out to dinner.  So overall the weekend was great!  And I think Alan enjoyed his special day.  He even got in a Sunday afternoon nap and some snuggle time with the Bammer.  He is such a wonderful father.  He's a great role model for the Bammer and loves being with her.  I love watching them play together.

For Father's Day gifts I made the Hugs and Kisses jar that I showed you last week for Alan, my dad, and father-in-law.  I thought it would be fun to have them put the jars on their desks at work to remind them how much they're loved and to snack on some chocolate throughout the day.  They turned out great!  I originally saw this at My Sister's Suitcase which is where I also got the printables.

I used small storage jars from Walmart and bought some blue and brown ribbon for the top.  I printed out the printable and glued it on some cute scrapbook paper.  I also had some matching strips of stickers which fit exactly around the jar!  I was so excited they fit so well!  And then I used adhesive spray to put on the printable and filled it with chocolate hugs and kisses!

And this is how I wrapped them - with tissue paper and ribbon.

I've also learned that I can get more things done when I let the Bammer help me.  She just wants to be able to see what I'm doing and get involved which is super cute!  And much easier and less stressful than her crying and holding onto my leg.  So I pulled her up a chair and let her eat some of the hugs and kisses.  She really enjoyed being mom's helper.  :-)

Happy Father's Day Alan!  I love you!
