Baby Blessing

Last Sunday we had our little baby blessed by Alan at our church.  In the Mormon faith, when babies are a few months old, they can be blessed by their fathers or another family member during our church meeting.  It's not a baptism (we do that when we're 8), but it's an opportunity for the father to give the child a name - which is then put on the records of the church - and a blessing through the priesthood that can be a reference for the children throughout their lives.  

These are things we hold sacred as Mormons and it's a time to celebrate as families.  So that afternoon we had all of our family over for a late lunch (which was a lot in this little apartment of ours).  It was a wonderful time to be able to celebrate this little baby that we are so blessed to have!
