My mom saw a cute mummy last year on Facebook, but couldn't find it this year, so we decided to make our own!
First my mom traced out a body and then the legs separately on muslin fabric. She just free handed it and made it look just how she wanted. She cut it out, then I traced it and cut out my own. Then we sewed around the edges of the body and cut a slit in the back for stuffing. We sewed around the legs and left the top open for stuffing.
We stuffed the head and body and then filled the bottom part of the body with rice so that it would be heavy enough to sit up on its own. Then finished stuffing and sewed up the back. We stuffed the legs and left the top open so we could glue it on the body later.
Then we hot glued on 2 black buttons for eyes. We cut a slit in the muslin first so the buttons would be flat on the face. Then my mom tore strips of muslin so that it was ragged like mummies. We glued some strips on the top of the head first because it was a little hard to wrap. Then we took the strips and wrapped them around the mummy and tied off the edges in knots. We left the beginning of the strip out so we could tie it with the other end.
Once we wrapped the body and legs we glued the the legs shut and then glued them underneath the body. And here you have an adorable mummy! We had to work with it a little to get it to sit right, but it will sit on its own! Love it!

So cute, Alexis!
