When I look at pictures of my parents in their younger years, the first thing I look at is their clothes and hair. I find the styles interesting and usually am so glad that I didn't live during those years.
These are my parents in 1983. They are good looking people!
My parents were teenagers in the 70s and I just look at the bell bottoms and polyester plaid pants and think...poor 70s.
And then I look at my baby pictures when my parents were a young married couple in the 80s with the big hair, big glasses, and shoulder pads and think...poor 80s. Glad I was just a baby.
And when I look at pictures of myself during my teenage years and now as a young married woman, I can't really think of any style that my kids would say, poor 2000s. (Is that what we even call it?) Sure there were some styles a little stranger than others, but I never really got into them. And I don't think anything has really been that extreme...until now.
I found the style that my children will look back and say, "Mom, why did you wear that?"
Colored Skinny Jeans!
Since the colored skinny jeans have become popular, I've really wanted a pair, but I couldn't get any because I was pregnant or hadn't lost enough baby weight to feel comfortable in my body enough to buy new clothes. Especially skinny jeans (which I never thought I would buy anyway, I'm a curvy girl). But I went shopping this week and tried some on and I loved them! I really do love this style. I'm curious what my kids will think some day.
